Schilling Images is the creative adventure of Carrie and Fred Schilling. We are spouses, friends, and creative partners. It is a symbiotic, near perfect partnership, in which the vision, the artistic passion, and the experience of each varies wildly, but the end result is a body of images that works as a musical composition. Sometimes there is harmony and balance, other times there is tension and excitement, but there is always music. In our images we strive for creative wonder, surprise, impact, and to view the world around us with our love and reverence for nature.
Our collaborative partnership started in 1989 while earning our Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Photography. We have worked in the field of photography since 1992 and were featured artists in gallery shows and art festivals.
Fred’s ... photographic passion started as a young boy when his grandfather, an ardent photographer, gave him a camera. His love of photography and nature is expressed best in his big images of expansive southwest landscapes and delicate detailed macro images.
Fred has worked as a commercial freelance photographer since 1997, specializing in environmental portraits and architectural photography for commercial, advertising, and editorial clients. Within a year they launched Schilling Images, realizing a long-time dream.
Carrie is inspired and invigorated by nature and art, it was natural for Carrie to unite her passions and turn her camera to the great outdoors. Her work is vibrant and lively featuring subjects in nature captured in macro-photography and printed large-scale. She is dedicated to conservation, and constantly revealing the hidden beauty of the world around us.
